Start with the basics of fuel:
* Do you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when first turning the key to the run position? If not, check the emergency fuel shut off switch. If that's okay, check the fuel pump fuses
* Has the filter been changed lately? If not, easy thing to eliminate as a suspect by changing it now See "Related Questions" below for more specifics on these starting ideas... Your fuel pump is out. to check this, remove the intake hose from the trottle body and spray starting fluid in it. if it starts and runs while spraying, it's a sure bet the pumps out. So,to replace it(the pump) you must drop the fuel tank. this can be done by removeing 2 straps(1/2 in. bolt on opposite sides), unplug your fuel line('s)and sending unit (above and to the front of the tank). On top of the tank is the access cover for U'r pump. give it a couple taps w/a screwdriver (counterclockwise). there's the pump! squeeze the 2 tabs on each side and wiggle the pump out. be sure to take it to U'r local pep boys for a new 1 (160.00). now take that back, and then they will give u the right 1. reverse operation to reassemble
Does it turn over? Getting fuel? Getting spark?
