In my Ford Explorer , the glove compartment is in the dash , in front of the right front passenger , and has a door that can be opened
The blower motor resistor on a Ford Explorer is positioned behind the glove compartment on the vehicle. The glove compartment can be removed easily by gently squeezing both sides at the same time.
The Ford Explorer computer module is located on the firewall under the hood in the center on some models. On other models the computer module is behind the glove compartment. The glove compartment has to be removed (open it as far as possible to pop it off the back hinge) to access the computer module.
Basically behind and below the glove compartment , you can see where the heater hoses connect to the heater core at the firewall from the engine compartment
Behind / below the glove compartment , inside the plastic box with the heater core
From the engine compartment you will see the wiring harness bolted to one end of the PCM as it passes through the firewall ( most of it is " hidden " behind the glove compartment )
The PCM ( powertrain control module ) is visible from the engine compartment. It is installed through the firewall on the passenger side , the wiring harness is visible and the rest of the PCM is "hidden" inside the Explorer behind your glove compartment
On a 1992 Ford Explorer : The firewall is the metal wall that divides the engine compartment from the passenger compartment
On a 1998 Ford Explorer : You can seeone end of the Powertrain Control Module ( PCM ) in the engine compartment . It passes through the firewall , from the engine compartment end you can see where the wiring harness is bolted to it , and most of the PCM is " hidden " behind the glove compartment
