Time for a complete tune up.
Yes, and a "tuneup" consists of changing spark plugs and wires. PLEASE, do NOT stick a feeler gauge in the plugs, it will destroy the platinum coating and they will be worthless, and your car will STILL run the way it is. Install them OUT-OF-THE-BOX, no adlustments!!!!
If this does not work, put it in the shop and have the speed sensors and the shifting solenoids on the transmission checked. if either or both are giving a wrong signal to the computer it may be shifting into the wrong gear.
Unhook the battery ground for about an hour. This will reset the computer back to factory settings. Sometimes this will work.

You have a misfire - engine related, not tranny...get the engine checked/tuned up...etc... dave
