replace the fuel sending unit in the gas tank.
Bad connection at wireing connector at the oil sending unit. Bad sending unit. Replace as needed.
Let me guess, the gauge vibrated for a while and now it's not working at all. Replace the fuel pump sending unit.
The Fuel pump sending unit has gone bad. Replace fuel pump assembly, not just the pump.
Chevy's are known for this problem, i just recently had the same problem and what you need to do is replace the fuel sending unit. My original problem had to do with my fuel pump not working and i wasn't really worried about the gauge but we figured since we had the tank down we might as well swap the sending unit and my gauge starting working. after u drop the tank and replace the fuel sending unit your gas gauge should start working correctly. try jcwhitney.com they seem to have the cheapest price on the unit and pump combo.

fuel sending unit is part of fuel pump located in gas tank. Tank must be removed to replace both.
You sure it is the gauge that is broke? I bet it is the sending unit.
either replace the sending unit or the dash gauge, that is if there is electricity getting to the sending unit.
In most cases the fuel gauge sending unit inside the fuel tank is at fault.
