Varies depending on the specs requested by the buyer. Fuel is weight and hauling weight you are not getting paid for is not a good thing in trucking. A typical road tractor will have between a 200 to 300 gallon capacity with 300 being the largest allowed by DOT.
There are many different fuel mileage ratings for over the road trucks. On average over the road trucks get 7 to 8 miles per gallon of fuel.
Class 8 trucks don't use gas - they use diesel. The capacity of the fuel tanks depends on how it's ordered. A local truck might only hold 100 gallons or so, while a long distance line haul truck might hold well over 300 gallons. For most fleet truck, 240 to 280 gallons is the norm. The truck I'm currently driving (and typing out this post from the sleeper of) has a capacity of 260 gallons.
There is no 'standard'. Some of our day cabs have 120 gallons total capacity. When I drove over-the-road, most tractors I drove had 240 gallons total capacity. It's all in what the customer orders when buying the vehicles. You can expect long distance trucks to have at least 200 gallons of fuel capacity in North America, though.
Drivers don't have to choose between towing capacity and fuel economy. There are two-wheel drive hybrid pickup trucks that tow over 6,000 pounds or carry 1,400 pounds in the bed with a combined fuel efficiency rating of 21 mpg. Four-wheel drive models deliver the same fuel efficiency, but lose 200 pounds of towing power. Farmers, ranchers and others requiring more towing capacity can find models that tow over 11,000 pounds.
Over the road trucks average 120,000 miles a year solo driven and team driven trucks average 250,000 miles per year.
They go as far as they're required to..... if u are talking about range between fill ups it varies. average over the road trucks get 5 to 7 mpg and usually have dual 100 gallon fuel tanks, although some trucks have dual 120 gal. or 150 gal. tanks. Trucks can only use about 90% of the fuel in the tanks before sloshing lets the pickup get air so on average 180 gal. at 6mpg would get a truck 1080 miles between fill ups
That depends upon what type of truck you mean. An over the road tractor trailer has two 'side saddle fuel tanks' which often carry 240 gallons between them. A diesel pickup usually has a capacity of no more than 32 US Gallons.
it's fuel used for the refrigeration unit on heavy trucks - like 18 wheelers or other over-the-road units
A Class 8 truck is a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of over 33,000 lbs. Single axle trucks with an additional lift axle, tandem axle trucks, tandem axle trucks with additional lift axles, and tractor-trailer dumps are all Class 8 trucks.
just over 12 gallons
Average in my truck over the last 3 weeks, $766 every other day.
I have a 2000 Chevrolet Express G3500 cargo van and the fuel tank capacity is 119 litres. I believe that equates to just over 31 gallons.
