how do you check transmission fluids
there is no dipstick for the transmission on an alero there is a fill spot crammed on the transmission beside the motor to check it you get under and pull out a plug on the tranny
You have to remove the transmission pan.
First thing that is needed is the motor size(4or6) auto or manual transmission so that the proper information will be given.
The best thing to do is replace it with A new or rebuilt unit. This is how you determine witch part is bad, If you are losing fluid its likely the slave cylinder, If the fluid is still there but the clutch is not working then its likely the master cylinder.
If it is the same as my 2002, my manual says that unless the transmission is leaking, the fluid level SHOULD not go down, so therefore they don't give you one. A dumb idea in my thinking.
Is your Alero a 2.4, a 2.2 ecotec or a 3400?
dextron or mercon III, you have to pump it in from the bottom.
15 ft.lbs.
You won't, cause there isn't one.
You can use any SAE certified transmission fluid in your 2002 BMW 325. The transmission has a fluid capacity of nine quarts.
No dipstick is fitted to this model. The filler/level plug is located on the forward face of the gearbox.
