Before answering this question, it should be noted that every president, whether Republican or Democratic, has been accused by his opponents of "doing nothing" or "having no achievements." This is usually untrue. While there have indeed been some very ineffective presidents, most can point to certain priorities they carried out or certain goals they reached. Thus, asking whether Obama has done anything good is somewhat of a loaded question: Republicans would say he has done nothing, Democrats would say he has done a lot. Almost everyone has accomplished something in their lifetime and Barack Obama is no different. Regardless of opinions on what he has and hasn't accomplished in office as the President of the United States, what can be said is that he has, in fact, accomplished actually becoming the president and to add to that, the very first African American president of the US.

President Obama and his wife have donated between $170,000 and $200,000 annually to worthy charities; the president also donated his prize winnings after he won the Nobel Peace Prize. He supports charities that help military families and also charities that provide scholarships to poor children who want to go to college. Both Barack and Michelle have also encouraged young students in schools all over the country, visiting and chatting with them in person, as well as helping to raise funds to improve the quality of education in these schools.
