I have done the Atkins diet twice before and lost considerable weight. I had heard and it is the common rumour that a woman died doing this diet, be that as it may, how many people have died on other diets yet no one reports it! Doctor Atkins was overweight probably but he made no denial that he went over his daily intake of carbs and as we all do start again or not do it for a while to enjoy life. I believe it is better to do the Atkins than any other type of diet. The key to losing a massive amount of weight, than just a bit more than all the other diets, is to really research the carbs (the actual amount I'm not saying), in the foods to make your meals interesting and as a recent newspaper ad in the UK in the last year, a man lost 4 stone on the Atkins diet in 10 months, when he should have lost 10 stone in 4 months, because his wife gave him fried bread. The low fat diets are low in fat but high in sugar, which is as bad as having full fat. The Atkins diet you eat high fat foods (not all fat foods) and the body starts to burn fat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and what you eat; It burns fat in your heart, blood, and arteries. Not Bad Eh! I am currently working out my carbs for the next time I do the Atkins diet and I am planning to lose 5 stone, and I will. I am looking at all types of low carb foods and what are carbs anyway, Glucose and blood sugar.
