Well yes. There is some gold in streams and rivers. It appears to be placer gold. How did it get there? Geologist say it was from the last glazier that came through. These were gold bearing rocks that came down from Canada.
But there are others that claim they have found Gold in quartz in very selective and probably isolated spots in the Adirondack's and in the Catskill's These "lode" deposits have been very hard to prove.
