Norway has always been Norge in some form or shape since it was made a country by Harald Hårfagre. The spelling of it has changed throughout history, from early Norðrvegr,Norðwegand later on Norig and Norie. It has also been referred to as norðmannaland (northernmen country), and has several names depending on local language; Norga, Vuodna, Nøørje and Norja. The official Norwegian spelling is: Kongeriket Norge or Kongeriket Noreg
