The sun's temperature and output of energy changes over long and very short periods. Not in large percentages, but when you are working with that amount of power, a small percentage is a huge figure. One or two percent over a few year period could freeze or boil the earth.

Scientists believe that the Sun has changed very little over the last 4 billion years or so.

About the only noticeable changes recently are associated with the 11-year sunspot cycle. Sometimes the Sun develops sunspots; dark areas on the Sun that can erupt in massive solar flares. The number of spots will increase until the Sun is quite freckled with dark spots, and then the sunspots fade away. Each sunspot lasts for from several days to a few weeks, but during active periods there may be dozens of sunspots all visible at once.

Right now, the Sun is in a very quiet state, with (as of today) no sunspots at all, and there have been very few for almost a year. But over the course of the next 5 years or so, we can expect to see more and more sunspots until the number reaches a peak and then they will all slowly disappear.

There are quite a few things to consider when constructing the answer that has been posed.

At the moment there is a prolonged state of dormancy which in itself is perplexing and raises more questions than it answers. If we look at the star itself, it's own gravity fuels the nuclear reaction and in turn the energy released is what fuels the other reactions that take place and the creation of the magnetic fields within the sun. As there is of late little or no sunspots it therefore provides us with a window into the suns health.

The production of the magnetic fields by way of a nuclear reaction driven by gravity can provide us with no conclusions and many possibilities including the incredibly remote possibility of the theory of the sun is shrinking. Personally this doesn't make a lot of sense unless there is a serious shift in gravity or there is a huge loss of mass from the core.

below is a list possibilities that may be the trouble with the sun but keep in mind it takes around 1,000,000 years for the energy of the photons we see to get from the core to the surrounding space and also these are just ideas and we frankly don't know.

1. The theory of the sun shrinking

2. Rhythmic cycles as a NORMAL part of it's life .

3. Lack of H or De in the core and thus shifting it's nuclear reaction to the fusion of He

4. The beginning of the cooling cycle ultimately resulting in a white or other dwarf star

5. Lack of understanding of the nature of the celestial body and new or refined models need to be constructed.

As our sun is in it's main cycle and should not run out of Hydrogen for several Billion years so it is highly unlikely that you need to worry about it in your lifetime. Transient responses from the activity of the sun can be noticed however minor and may result in the regression to an ice age in a thousand years or so. Given that, you can sleep well in the notion that you should be able to sleep well at night and go to the beach in the morning.

Conspiracy nuts will be having a field day with this and i am sure that they think that aliens are attacking us and they are trying to do it by causing the sun to cool down, for those who believe this you deserve the anxiety and paranoia that you have.

The sun pluses and changes temperature regularly The amount of energy we receive from the sun also changes.

Our distance is also a variable. This is the major reason we see climate change according to almost every climate and science expert.

The Sun is changing every "micro second"

As nuclear fusion occurs in the Suns core, the temperature increases. This expands the outer envelope of the Sun (Like a heated balloon), this expansion decreases the pressure on the core, which then decreases the amount of nuclear fusion that occurs, and thus temperature. This reduction causes the outer envelope to contract, which causes an increase in pressure, which causes an increase in nuclear fusion, which creates more heat, the outer envelope expands and well…. ad infinitum.

if you're talking about the temperature on earth, the only way it changes it is by giving off heat (the sun is just a great mass of burning gas). the seasons change on earth because of earth's tilt (which is 23.45 degrees). when the sun's light is hitting a part of earth directly, it is summer, and when the sun is almost skimming off of it, it's winter. so, when it's winter in the northern hemisphere, it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. same with autumn and spring

Temperature on the sun would vary little. Not so the Moon. Here day time temp. reaches about 100 C. at night can drop to - 173 C.

the universe is constantly changing because it is expanding. how and why it is expanding is still uncertain but there are a few theories.

The seasons change NOT because the Earth rotates, but because of our revelution around the sun. It is summer when the northern hemisphere is tilted toward the sun. the seasons have nothing to do with the distance to the sun. the Eath is closest to the sun in winter.
