As long as you are back before June or get it renewed by June.
yes you need a passport to visit Mexico. it didnt use to be that way I lived in Mexico for several years going back and forth to work in sandiego since 911 security is tight around the borders of the united states for your safety
Yes. Everyone entering the US by boat or air or foot must have a US Passport for reentry. This became effective in June 2009.
As of June 1st, 2009, Canadian Citizens require either a valid passport or enhanced driver's license to cross into the USA at a land border.
The Canadian passport rules have changed since June 2009, psecially if you are travelling from the US, beofre you only needed your passport if you were travelling by plane. If travelling by boat or car then you only needed a picture ID. But now this part of the old rules have changed, if you are crossing the border by land or sea you will now require a passport or a passport card. The measure was due to come in force in 2008 but was applied since 2009. Increased security issues are to blame.
U.S. citizens do not need a passport to enter Mexico by land or sea. The Mexican officials at the border do not ask for any identification from you. On your return home, the U.S. officials would like you to carry a current passport but they can't obligate you to do so. Every day hundreds of people cross from Tijuana to San Diego with only a driver's license. See related links section.

yes it is
I believe that all you need to go to Mexico is your driver's license (that's all we've used to drive there)...if you are a US born American citizen. However, if you are not a US born American citizen...you'll require further documentation. I do not suggest taking your original birth certificate with you when you travel. A passport is a better option and easier to replace if lost or stolen. Starting 2006 you will need to have a valid passport to travel between Mexico and the USA As of now, you need a passport, and a drivers license to go thru the airport customs. According to the U.S. governments travel website and the department of homeland security, a passport is required to re-enter the USA by air. Land travel requires proof of identity and citizenship until June 1,2009 at which time a passport will be necessary. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technically the above is correct BUT you willl have extreme difficulty boarding ANY International flight without having a passport as ID at check-in. After June 2009 the airlines have become really hard nosed about this. An " enhanced " drivers liscense is NOT a passport and will not be accepted at the airport .... those things are only for "driving " to Mexico or Canada BUT be warned, althought Mexico will maybe allow you in without a passort ( how much are you willing to pay as a bribe ? ) the U.S. Immigration will NOT allow you back into the U.S. without a passport Money buys anything in Mexico
AnswerFor travel FROM Canada, TO the U.S.A., a new law went into effect in January 2007 that requires a passport for entry by air into the U.S. Regulations that require a passport for entry to America by land or sea from Canada have gone into effect as of June, 2009.No passport is required for U.S. citizens entering Canada directly from the U.S. by land, sea, or air. The Canadian government has announced no plans to change this.Government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver's license) is sufficient for entry from the U.S. into Canada, however since you need a passport to get back into the U.S., most airlines won't board you for a flight to Canada from the U.S. without oneWhile it looks like you don't need a passport for entry to Canada by land, sea, or air in actuallity a U.S. citizen will not be allowed into the country without proper documentation to return home. So yes you need a passport, Nexus card, or enhanced licence to enter Canada.
As long as you return before the 29th of June, it should be.
