Yes Edward became king and when he died he handed the throne to Lady Jane Gray (who was more than unhappy for this to happen and refused the title of "Queen"), then after nine days of her reign Mary, Edward sister, became Queen. After Mary's very unpopular reign, Elzabeth, debatably one of England's most successful rulers, became Queen.

∙ 13y agoHenry VIII's only son Edward was born to his third wife, Jane Seymour on 12 October 1537. He became King of England on 28 January 1547 and was crowned on 20 February at the age of nine, taking the name Edward VI. His mother died of puerperal fever 12 days later. Edward died while still a minor on 6 July 1553 and was succeeded by his half sister Mary.
