Depends if you want to take advantage of the extras at your new school. By taking the AP classes, you can really get a leg up on the classes for your first year of college. This will save you time and money. However, the classes take work and there is a test at the end that you have to pass in order to get the credits. A foreign language is also very worthwhile, particularly if you are college bound. Otherwise, take Spanish; you will most probably find a use for it in your lifetime.
Music and a foreign language looks good on a college application
A language translator can go to a college or university that offers foreign language classes. Many schools offer these classes because they are a prerequisite for most degree programs.
Depends on the college. My college doesn't even require a foreign language. Most people take a class on the same foreign language they learned in high school.
Shall I assume you mean college and not collage? A good rounded education with classes in science, history or social studies, English and math plus some electives like a foreign language or orchestra should do it.
Hey im 14 yrs old, In 3rd year and im not doing a language in school. Can someone tell me if i can get into college with out a language??? Im confused =( No, you don't need to learn a language to get to sixth form college... Some universities you do though.
The short answer is no. When you take a foreign language in high school, colleges are able to rely on the fact that you learned the language well enough pass the classes. If you are studying a language on your own, they have no way to verify what you have learned. It's possible that some colleges may have an exam that you can take to prove your foreign language skills; however, I don't know of any colleges that do that.
If wanting to get into UCLA you will have to have at least to years of foreign language. You can take any two foreign language classes you like.
Minimum of two years foreign language in high school
yes but its better to have 3
I feel as if the person should do Physics instead of 4th year in foreign language. [EDIT] I'd say take the foreign language course instead because colleges like to see that you have 4 years of one foreign language. If you want to major in physics, then wait until college to start on your physics major. Until then, focus on getting into college first.
There are many colleges that do *NOT* require a foreign language, but it is highly suggested and normally required that you atleast participate in classes to learn foreign languages, even if you don't learn one.
You should make sure you are in a college prep program. You will have the appropriate math, and laboratory science courses. You should have a strong foundation in communication (written and oral), foreign language, and humanities as social sciences.
