It all depends on what size engine is under the bonnet, my 2001 1.6 used to produce 109 bhp but after some fiddling and a new induction kit etc it produces 141 bhp. I'm sure if you have a 1.4 it could get close to 130 bhp and if its a 1.8 i don't see why you couldn't get 150+ from the engine without compromising reliability
You won't see any bhp increase at all. Tests have actually shown a very slight reduction in power compared to running the original airbox with a high quality paper filter. Source: E30 Zone Wiki + Rolling Road graphs
The purpose of an induction kit is to help a driver fix the air conditioning in their car. The main thing that an induction kit focuses on fixing is the car's air filter.
Yes, you can use petes tuning box which can increase BHP as well as TORQ
Depends on what you want to pay mate, Gruppe M is good, though crazily expensive (at around £700) and very loud especially when the vtec kicks in. I would personally go for the ITG Maxogen as it is quiet and under half the price!! The AEM CAI is another option (it is the one that sits near the wheel arch) meant to be the best bhp per £ induction wise. Though I have heard stories of water getting into them and...dreaded hydro-lock. Not really an induction kit for UK weather :( . Choice is yours.
You can get quite a bit of boost with the BD-Power twin turbo kit, but it depends on your engine and how you mate the kit.
The 140 BHP base power will only be raised slightly (145 - 150) unless other modifications are made. Headers would gain the most as a next step and take advantage of the more aggressive camshaft
The cold air induction kit will only add power at the upper RPMs that you will rarely see and it will be very little. As for the chip, not to worry, you are not going to add enough horsepower to hurt the transmission.
If its installed correct and is a good product it will not harm the car, cooler wheater gives your CAI more cooled air = more power.
most likely your idle is set to high
An induction kit is generally an aftermarket add-on for an air filter on a car. Most comprise of an air filter and tube/ducting pipe allowing a rich flow of air to the filter. These are said to increase air flow into the engine allowing more air and fuel to mix, in turn, increasing power. They also add a really nice rumble or 'induction roar' when accelerating. Pipercross and K&N filter kits are probably the best value for money. I own a K&N one and i wont look at any others...but that's my opinion anyway. *Sorry for the plugs :/
Yes it will sound amazing get an induction kit to increase your engine sound
