The entire mechanism is encased so you can't take it apart so you can either find a proxy adhersive with high torque strength (one that does not dry brittle) and slap some on the cog of the winder shaft and see if it sets in place within the mechanism on the broken or worn cog fitting and let it set for 12 hours and see if it works (it worked for me); or replace the whole thing.
