You have a hydraulic clutch in your mr2, no cable.

Use a flathead and wedge it out

MR2 = ..... M=Mid engined R=Rear wheel drive 2=Two seater (*emblems on early MR2's read: Mid-engine Runabout)
Generally it would be an unmetered air leak in the intake system. Or it could be a faulty crank/cam sensor
The Toyota MR2 factory recommendations say to change the belt at 90,000 miles. If the belt runs past its use and the belt can snap leading to complete engine failure.

The crank angle would change the stroke. The stroke would change the volume.
Take the trans out, the clutch is inside the trans ^_^
