Its a sin to be in a civil partnership in Islam reasons for that is that its ha ram and a sin so Muslims don't ace-pt it in any shape or form. civil partnership however means two people of the same sex who want a legal contract and want the same rights and responsibilities as a couple man and wife would have. if a Muslim would do this in Saudi Arabia it you would be sentence to a death penalty. and yes of course prophet Muhammad did state that 'marriage is half of your religion.'
