Hi, The port where the OBD or instrument where the garage or tech needs to hook up to is located to the right of the steering column down near the left side of the console. That's the only way I know of that a '97 can be reset, I have a '97 and have had to go through this a few times and have seen it done. I'm not willing to buy a code reader yet. Hope this helps and good luck. Steve H.
buzzzzz, close.
its an OBD2 car and all code readers and scanners can do this task.
as will pulling the DOME fuse , reset it.
but if something is wrong and you power reset it you loose the DTC.
Diagnostic trouble codes,
so go to any auto store as say, lplease mister , pull me CEL codes.
free.
or buy a code reader $26 + free shiipping from fleebay.
have family members chip in lousy $5 , and not be helpless.
just 2 trips to AZ pays for the silly reader. (gas saved)
Try resetting the fuel cut off switch and see if the engine will start
reset what? this makes no sense. sorry .
It doesn't have a fuel reset switch.
on the driver side by the front speaker up underneath is a switch that turns off the check engine light.
There isn't a reset switch. The light is reset with a scan tool after the cause of the trouble code has been repaired.
There is a switch behind the left front speaker that resets it.
If it is an automatic it will not have a clutch safety switch it will have a neutral safety switch
Yes, the 2001 ignition switch for a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker will fit just fine. Other years the switch fits are 1999 to 2004.
I don't know about the years in questions, but in regards to a straight swap, the answer is no. Since you are going from Auto to Manual, you also have to swap the tranny.
