Because of Propaganda . It change peoples mind about the war. Propaganda is like a message or ideas telling people to like join something. They make posters telling people to join the army and telling womens to help out like go work while the men is gone. If you were really a Patriot, then you would help out. That's how the U.S shape public opinions during the war.
