The goal of Buddhism is nibbana (nirvana), the cessation of suffering. Truth is never specifically defined as the goal. Truthful speech, however, is defined as an essential part of the way to the goal.
The correct word is NIRVANA and it is a way of living that the Buddhists choose that is supposed to get you out of "the reincarnation cycle"

The Buddha believed the only way to find truth was by looking at it without warping your view with attachments (hopes, fears or assumptions). The rest of Buddhism is methods of weakening and overcoming those attachments.
Islam is a way of life. It teaches its followers to live a pious life. They are supposed to speak truth, be honest and just in their dealings with all humans.
