Spain is a country in the Iberian Peninsula of Europe, while Ecuador is a country in South America.

However, they share many similar cultural traits. As a result of once being a part of the Spanish Colonial Empire, both countries' official language is Spanish. Many Spanish traditions that were practiced by Spanish settlers in Ecuador still remain important to Ecuadorian culture today.
