Plant cells have chloroplasts which contain green material called chlorophyll (this is what makes a plant look green). The chlorophyll breaks down energy obtained from the sun for food e.g glucose.

This was a very simple explanation. Sorry but this is the best I can do. I'm noob but if you want to know more I think researching is the best way to go.
