Enough air is sealed into each chip bag to cushion the chips within the bags from crushing each other, then the bags are packed snugly in boxes designed to hold a specific number of those particular bags of chips so they have the least chance of bouncing and crushing during transport. Most are shipped by truck in the US.

Potatoes are shipped in refrigerated rail cars each year and they carry about 1.4 billion pounds of fresh potatoes. potatoes are also sold in packets to the fresh markets others are sold loose to the chip market when the packages are shipped are loaded onto large trucks and trailers that most of the time have a refrigeration system and the temperature is usually kept around 42 degrees f to keep them fresh. some are also shipped in boats and by rail.

Put it in a black polythene and wrap it with a tape. Place in between your clothes, a towel or a coat would be a better choice.....
