Rats are helpful because they are small, intelligent animals.
How they are helpful can vary. Some people can't have cats or dogs, might not like fish, & mice smell a lot, so rats may be their only option, or the best one.
The African? Pouched Rat is a good example of the genus. They're being trained to detect/find land mines. Because they're so light, weighing about 600grams to 1 kilo, they don't trigger it, & sit right on it.
You can Google that too
They are not good pets....
For anyone who has had the experience of having one, they are extremely good pets.
Rats are similar to dogs in that they can differientiate between one person to another, can be trained to do things such as roll over.
They are also very cuddley when they've been handled enough.
There is the fact that people see rats as bad pets because they simply don't like them. The same thing goes for dog & cats - someones doesn't like them, they don't seem them as good pets.
All comes down to the individual
Domesticated rats ( that means rats that are not wild ) make great pets. ( Take my advise on this I own two rats. ) They can even learn names! ( Your name and his/her name. )
So the good things about domesticated rats are: 1 They learn names. 2 They learn to love you ( as a family ). 3 They bond easily and 4 They make AWESOME pets! It's very sad that they use the name 'Rat' as an insult because they can be SO nice! ( FUN FACT! the common domesticated rat is 48x smarter then a squirrel , mouse , hamster ,
guinea pig , rabbit or a hare!)
Please take my advise because i have two rats and they LOVE me!
ones on the street? eh they eat the stuff no one wants thats sitting in the trash... and feed birds (you know big birds) and the domesticated ones bring smiles to little ones who think their the neatest things in the world even though most people cringe at them. they are great pets for children that never had a pet before. they put up with a lot and you can hold them all day and they will be perfectly content sitting on your shoulder. unlike hamsters that get a bit nippy with how rough you may handle them.
The rats are decomposers. :D
In science they are pretty useful.
I think there are more rats in the world than humans.
They eat rats,humans,and Spiders
the rats eat meat as humans do
They dont. Any interraction is purely coincidental. Rats hate humans. They only like rats. Get some real friends man....
Yes, rats are almost everywhere that humans have went to.
