While sales commissions vary from business to business there are industry standards. How sales commissions are figured depends on the pay structure of the sales rep. Sales reps may work straight commission, salary plus commission and others, it depends on the agreement between the company and rep. Salespeople normally receive their commissions when they write up an order, or when the client/customer pays their invoice. Typically a sales rep gets paid when the sale is complete to avoid problems if an order derails before completion.
Because it makes you look. Also Marketers try to get you to associate their products with beauty. Bose came out with a wireless ipod speaker and advertised it by showing good looking people socializing and having fun while listening to it, they figured it makes you think,"hey if i buy this, good looking people will want to party with me". In the end you will probably use it to listen to music in the shower.
That's a really tough question -- it's different for every company. The ones that really want to compete (and can afford to) don't mark up their products too much if they don't have to. For instance, at our company we have wholesalers and retailers in house. Our retail prices are actually extremely close to or the same as some of our wholesale stuff just because we want to stay on top of the game. Because of our success in the last year, we can afford to offer our customers very low prices. Companies that are new or not doing so well can't afford to keep cutting prices on their products. The best way I have figured out to do it is: Run hot water from a faucet onto the hat. Use some resolve along with it. Then you scrub the hat with a hard bristlebrush. Not to hard though. Then you rinse it and let it dry in the sunlight. Make sure that it is not creased or it will stay that way. This method works for me. Good luck I hope it works for you.
There's a few different ways to calculate a sales lift. One way would be the compare the sales over the same length of time before and after a new hire/manager in the same season. Also, the average over a long period of time, with the elimination of any promotions in that period, could be figured to and compared to get a sales lift.
The answer to this question depends on who you ask. If you ask a public relations professional, they will tell you that PR is the most important. If you ask a marketing professional, they'll tell you it's advertising. The answer always lies somewhere in the middle. Both public relations and advertising are tools in a marketing toolkit. To determine which tools to use, you need to ask yourself a few questions: What are your business goals? - Are you trying to sell more products? Or are you trying to mobilise a community to change their behaviour? Who are you trying to reach? - Who do you need to buy your product? Whose behavior are you trying to change? What are you trying to say? - What is the message that will resonate with your audience? Which mediums are your audience participating in/paying attention to? - Are you speaking to people over 65? Maybe Twitter isn't the answer.... Once you've figured out who you're talking to and what you want to say, you can choose from a number of tactics in your "toolkit." The best campaigns use a mix of marketing communications tactics - from social media to media relations to advertising. The MOST important components of the marketing communications mix are those that reach your audiences in the most cost-effective, and impactful way.
This varies greatly from company to company.
