Indians are indigenous people. (There is some discussion that the term Indians for the people of North America actually came from a misunderstanding and mispronounciation of the word "indigians"--- and not from an idea that the Americas were actually India.)

Indigenous means that they were the native people-- and really only means that they had been in America for many generations.

Puritans were English people who emigrated to North America. The English government was actually happy to see them go to America where they would cause less trouble, and begin development in America.

The jamestown settlers were searching for gold and other economic gains, whereas the Pilgrims just wanted to find a place to practice their religion freely, as their Puritanical beliefs were outlawed in England.

How were England settlers different from Jamestown settlers?

The settlers were, in fact, both British. Jamestown settlers were mainly from London (England). However, 50% of the Jamestown settlers were classed as "gentlemen". These were not working class men but were landowners and people who did not do manual labour. This caused issues as they did not have the necessary skills like carpenters, builders farmers and blacksmith which were needed to initiate the building of the colony.
