11280 is somewhat high but far from amazing. The "normal" range is 4500-10000 cells per mcL, and that varies with age, condition, history, etc. The good news is your immune system seems to be working just fine. The bad news is that a high WBC usually means an infection of some kind, that the body is attacking. There are other causes that are possible, but the most common is a simple infection. Unless there's a lot more to your history, this factoid alone is not a cause to worry of and by itself.

Accordingly to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reference_ranges_for_blood_tests you have almost the double of the normal-high (11.4) I will say your body is in overdrive attacking something.

You obviously went for a white blood cell count test because you feel there is something wrong, right? visit your family doctor and explain all the symptoms, can be as bad as cancer and as normal as an infected throat.

Good luck
