Yes, some get big. A friend of mine has a son who was weeding his garden and got bitten by a rattlesnake. He had to be transferred from Lexington Va hospital to UVA in Charlottesville, Va. There are also copperhead snakes in Virginia as well. When I was a teen, I remember an accident near Woodbridge, Va in Lake Anna when a kid was attacked by a water moccasin snake. They are out there, be careful.
