200,000 meters long or approximately 656,167 feet long. 130 miles? seems a little long that would put you in the mantle. this is not the right answer.
Very Large. There isn't a number but it ruined many habitats.
It happened in US territorial waters in the Gulf of Mexico.
30 seconds with a really big hoover
So far, on the top of the water, the oil spill is bigger than New York! The state, not the city. It is still getting bigger every day!
It's Causing A Big Problem Like Polluting The Air Not Going on beaches
Right now BP is planning to pour a bunch of heavy mud on the leak, hoping to clog the broken pipe. The real question is what are they going to do about the fishermen, oystermen, and the lobstermen that are now out of business and have lost millions. What will they do about the families of these people who will not be able to fish for another 5 generations? what this person meens is because the dont now realy so go see a better site.
If you mean the big spill that just happened, It happened in the gulf of Mexico and started when a BP oil rig caught on fire and sunk into the ocean, which is now spilling oil miles below the sea under water. Gee, thanks BP. Hope this helped!
big.................. very big................. ok......VERY BIG
I think it was more of an attempt to contain the oil, rather than a complete containment of the oil, as oil washed up on beaches in four states and entered the wetlands in Louisiana. There were miles of oil booms laid in the Gulf to hold back the oil. To protect the wetlands, special berm were designed. A number of other measures were developed to reduce the amount of oil that spilled into the gulf. See related link.
Pitch is directly proportional to the size of the pipe.
I assume you are asking about how much area of the gulf the spill will ultimately contact. The oil spill is an ongoing event as more oil spills into the gulf every day. As of May 23, 2010, I can't really give you a good answer. I just don't think anyone can. Right now, the insertion tube is siphoning off around 3,000 barrels of oil a day. There is a plan, soon to be implemented to perform a "top kill" which might result in capping the well. At that point, and with good weather, the oil spill may decrease. If a top kill is infeasible, we will have around 1 to 2 more months of oil flow. There have been a lot of estimates of oil flow rates which are discussed on the wikipedia website. See related links.
it depends on how big the bridge was when it wasn't broken
