You first have to determine what the gun actually is. JC Higgins didn't manufacture guns - Sears bought guns from a variety of manufacturers and had them marked as JC Higgins. Go through this web site:
http://www.gunnersden.com/index.htm.gun-cross-reference-index.html
and determine what make and model the gun is. It can then be determined what date renge the gun was likely made. I have a short cal 22 jc hjggings sold by searsser number (ser1262830 how old a value Thanks for any help Thanks Johnny

You can't find them. What you can do is offer to buy my whole rifle which has a good bolt in it. I'll take a newer Marlin 981t as trade. tackleberry65@hotmail.com
Made by Marlin from 1962-1965. We have some parts for that model. gunshop@nctv.com
Cant find information on a kessler bolt action rifle from 1950
Sears trade name is strike one. Bolt action is strike two. Value will start around $25 and may go as high as $100 if it is like new.
it is a shot gun not a rifle
List all the markings that ARE on the rifle. sales@countrygunsmith.net
I would first look at numrich gun parts.
Gun Parts Corp has correct Higgins buttplates, but they would have to be fitted to the stock.
It will not be easy to find a manual for a JCS Higgins 20 gauge bolt action model 583.15 shotgun. The company, JC Higgins is no longer around and has been replaced by the company, Ted Williams. The company, Ted Williams may be able to help someone find a similar model manual.
Need more information. I Cannot find a reference to an H&R Model 25 bolt action rifle
same as Marlin 81 I would try Numrich Gun parts corp. West Hurley Ny.
No sn data available that I am aware of.
