Well, hun. It depends on what KIND of depression. But Im also depressed, it stresses you out doesnt it? Well, I would suggest going to counseling. Or talking it out with a friend. This might sound weird, but crying it all out really does help. Sometimes you just want to let it out and tell a friend, and sometimes you want to keep it as a secret. If your the type that doesnt want to tell, then, well..figure out ways to make you feel better, and sooner or later you will forget about it, it will be your past, and if its your past, people cant judge you for it. And it will all go away. Pray to god. He will help, but only if you admit to try, and to let, and to believe he will help you. Im sorry for your depression. (:
You can visit a doctor if you want to take prescription drugs to suppress your depression. You can also visit a therapist (paid or sometimes you can find a free one) to discuss your depression issues. Depression can stem from a lot of sources, so a good exercise might be to write down all of the problems in your life, and try to figure out (or research) how your can fix them. There are numerous online forums where people support and help each other through depression, so that might be a good start.
Depression is the biggest emotional crisis that an individual can go through. It takes control of people’s private lives and makes recreational activities like shopping, going to the movies, and hanging out with friends impossible. Plus, you could even lose your job.
So how do you cope with depression?
1. The first thing you have to do is recognize the problem. Think about why you feel this way, and what specifically put you in such a wretched emotional state. Adult depression is generally caused by the death of a close friend or loved one. Depression can also be caused by a gut-wrenching illness like cancer or HIV. No matter what the cause, recognizing exactly what put you into this mood is the only way to get better.
2. The next thing you should do is talk to someone about how you feel. It doesn’t matter if it’s a parent, your spouse, your sister, one of your friends, a psychiatrist, or a therapist. Talking to someone who will listen is one of the best things you could do to recover from depression. It’s very important to talk to someone who will listen to everything you have to say. So talk to someone who you know can listen. If you talk to someone who ignores you, then it’ll only exacerbate the problem. When you talk to someone, tell them exactly how you feel. Tell them why you feel this way and ask for advice or help. It doesn’t matter how old you are, talking about your feelings can quickly calm your spirits.
3. If you’ve lost someone, then think about the good memories you’ve had with them. If you can, establish some kind of spiritual connection. Many people have religions because it helps them deal with the pain of losing someone they care about. If you’re able to deal with a loss the right way, then eventually you’ll see brighter days in the future.
Depression can be heartbreaking and it may even lead to suicide, but you have to be strong. You have to deal with your problems and face the world head on. It’s the only way you’ll get through it.
