Yes, you can replace a 1.5 liter engine in a 1997 Mirage with a 1.8 liter engine. However, there will be extra parts needed to modify the engine so that it will fit perfectly.
Timing chains are designed to last the life of the engine. So, replace the timing chain when the engine needs rebuilding.
The engine will stop running. This is not an interference engine so there will be no engine damage. Just replace the belt.
It depends on what kind of car you have and the engine.
it depends on the size of the diesel engine going in so yes and no
Purchase 2 oil changes and filters. As long as you have not run the engine to long you should be ok. Drain the mixture and replace the oil & filter. Allow the engine to run at an idle till the engine has reached operating temp, about 20 minutes. Then drain it off and replace the filter again and refill the oil. One good thing may have happened from this mistake. Brake fluid can remove paint, so you should have a good clean engine (no slug) if nothing else. I would caution against do it again however. There are better & safer methods of cleaning out the slug caused by crude oil. Best of Luck.
i need a picture of the engine so you can tell me how to get to the termosate
With the engines built these days, the timing chains last the lifetime of the engine. So, unless you are rebuilding an engine the answer is no.
It's worn and sticking, once it gets hot enough it breaks loose and opens then it sticks again until it gets so cool that it breaks loose again, closes and lets the engine warm up. Replace the thermostat before you overheat and cause severe engine problems.
It all depends on the bearings that you need to replace! Get some quotes! If it is bearings inside the engine, then the mechanic you go to is going to have pull the engine anyways, so if there are no other problem with your engine but some bearings then i would just have the bearing replaced, but if you have other problems due to the bearings going out, then i would replace the engine. Hope i helped
