Follow these simple steps:

  • Only eat when you are actually hungry, not emotionally hungry or you just feel like eating because that is how most Americans get overweight.
  • Eat slowly with the TV. turned off, if you eat slowly you will be able to stop eating when you are full not stuffed and when the TV. is turned on it will distract you and you will forget to stop eating when you are full.
  • Exercise daily for about 30-60 minutes. Stick to the same routine everyday. For young kids like 9-12 I say do 50 jumping jacks (I know it seems like a lot), 25 leg ups on each leg, 15 stretched-leg ups on each leg, 25 crunches, and 15 push-ups do this once or twice a day.
  • Eat healthy, eat fruits and veggies instead of brownies, cookies, cake, and cupcakes.
  • Replace Hot Chocolate, soda , etc. with water, milk, V8, Grape Juice, cranberry juice, or apple juice.
  • Stick to the serving size! On boxes of cereal, crackers, and almost all foods there will be a serving size number on the side of the box that the calories and ingredients are on. Only eat that many crackers or whatever you're eating that the box tells you to. Or eat less.
  • Stay away from high calorie foods, they are the foods that make you chubby!
  • Remember don't push yourself too hard! You're not on The Biggest Loser! Also, you need some calories to survive so don't drink water for the rest of your life!
