My girlfriend's 13 and she runs each day with one of her parents and she swims. She also eats a healthy diet. Therefore, I would say that healthy exercise and healthy eating is the key to losing fat and a few pounds. However, at only 114 pounds (unless you are very small in height) you do not need to lose any body weight.
Doing only abdominal exercise will not help you to reduce belly fat. Cardio Exercises + Abdominal Exercises + Strength training exercise is the best way to lose belly fat.
~For one thing, 114 is not a "fatty" weight. If you are over 5', that is considered not enough. You can always to crunches, not sit-ups, with you legs lifted in the air. I do about 100 a day and have a 24 1/2'' waist and im 12.
Also: This is a good healthy weight, and don't forget that girls are still growing at this age. If you try to lose weight now, you may not grow as tall as you should. With healthy exercise and a good diet, there is no need to worry about weight at this weight and this age.
Young people tend to have higher metabolisms than adults, and tend to burn fat faster than them, so just "being a teenager", like biking, Skateboarding, or doing almost any activity can easily burn fat. Eating a balanced diet also never hurts.
How "fast" you want to lose the stomach fat depends on how smart you eat, and how much you exercise.
If a 13-year-old girl has a lot of belly fat and she wants to get rid of it, she may need to exercise more. Eating a proper diet would also help.
Do lots of bicycle kicks in a lot of crunches and running and walking in just exercise everyday for 30 to 20 minutes

If you are a skinny 19 year old with some belly fat, you can do crunches to get strong, visible abs.
