Yea. it will become increasingly difficult to farm without this knowledge. An informed farmer, will know the effects of various chemicals on his produce, animals, and land. Dealing with livestock for example, What effect on the animal will a parasite treatment have (for intestinal worms say), and what effect will this have on the marketing of the animal. Is there a 'withholding period' before the animal can be sent to Market? Similarly with the effects of insecticides or fungicides on fruit and vegetables. And do these pose a hazard to the farmer herself during application? . And there is the land itself. Are the farming practices leading to salination of the soil? What happens when the nitrogen from the animals dung enters the underground water and further on, the streams and rivers. Consider the intensive farming of cattle or pigs for example.
