The bad news... celiac disease can not be prevented. It is genetic and you either have it or not - same as eye color. The awesomely good news... it is 100% manageable by strictly following a gluten free diet. This disease can seriously KILL you, OR you can totally escape it's dastardly symptoms and outcomes by diet alone.

You cannot prevent yourself from get Celiac Disease. It's from your genes, if your parents have Celiac Disease you have a 50% chance. If your parents don't have it rarely to get it. Remember, Celiac Disease is not an actual disease it is just an allergy.

You cannot prevent gluten intolerance, which is the result of a biological inability to digest gluten (wheat protein). The best you can do is avoid gluten-containing foods and beverages.
