There are many ways to delete files on Windows 8. This includes selecting the file and using the delete key, as well as right clicking the object and selecting delete.

If it is for a program then windows removes it automatically but for Internet explorer you must click the tools menu then delete browsing history then delete temporary Internet files or delete all if you want.

Formatting doesn't delete the files. It Replaces the file that tells windows where the files are. The files are only accesible using special software and wont show up in windows explorer.
