For one thing, realize that alcohol is addictive. Same goes for drugs. It might not only effect the nervous system. It can hurt your liver a lot too, since that has to do with filtering the water that you drink (or something like that, as far as I can remember). Some drugs may make it hard for signals to pass through the system, others make signals not stop. In many ways.
Each drug is unique, but recreational drugs usually just piggyback on an existing nervous system chemical signaling mechanism. They change the rate at which the signal is transmitted, ramping it up or down, by mimicking natural chemicals, often at dangerously high levels. For example, the body has normal, natural signals using pain-killing opiates (opium et al) and mood-altering endocannabinoids (marijuana), among others. Cocaine acts indirectly, but similarly; it blocks a chemical that transports an important neural signal. Synthetic / designer drugs do likewise. Same with neurotoxins. Snakes, Spiders, mushrooms, poisonous fish -- almost all of them change the rate at which neural signaling occurs, leading to paralysis, death, heart attack, embolism, etc.
Many drugs and chemicals can affect the Peripheral Nervous System's functionality, either by inhibiting or reactivating it.
One example is Lidocaine, a local anesthetic.
There are three main classes of drugs that are known to directly affect the nervous system. These are depressants, stimulants and hallucinogens.

This question is to vague to be answered. The word "drugs" applies to all sorts of things, from prescription medicine, to alcohol and tobacco, to illegal drugs. All of them - both by general type and by brand/name - have different effects on people.
norepinephrine/noradrenaline working in tandem with epinephrine/adrenaline
Depressant drugs and some illnesses.
Nervous system depression is not the same thing as depression where you feel sad. It means slowing down of the nervous system. Nervous system depression causes things like slowed heartbeat, dulled mental ability, and slow reflexes. Some drugs and medical conditions can cause this. Sedatives are one medication that causes depression of the nervous system.
they make your body work faster or slower, they damage your nervous system
Drugs slower the nervous system.
true
yes it can.
Alchohol and cocaine
All psychotropic drugs affect the nervous system, from marijuana to dipropyltryptamine or methamphetamine. This is how they work, if they didn't affect the nervous system (particularly the brain) then no one would feel an effect.
Almost all drugs affect the central nervous system. some however, are:- cocaine, heroin, marijuana, meth, tobacco, nicotine and caffeine ( this also affects your muscular system).
It is true that drugs and alcohol can affect the mind It can also interfere with the central nervous system.
Many drugs will actually improve the human nervous system with almost no side effects. One of the most effective drugs that anybody could take to improve their nervous system is heroin
Drugs that affect the central nervous system causing mental or behavioral changes are commonly referred to as psychoactive drugs. These drugs can alter mood, cognition, perception, or behavior when taken. Examples include stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, and opioids.
There are many drugs that can slow down the body but they don't come into affect immediately
if you were to have drugs in your system proteins don't have much effect on taking out the drugs.
