You can't force your husband to love you; he either does or doesn't but it has to be the right kind of love. Test him first to see if cares for you or loves you by dressing up nice and going out without him and see if YOU really love him. Than if you are absolutely sure that you do with the passionate, can't live without you, I am 100% sure without a doubt in my mind love than test him. Tease him a bit and make him jealous or something. You have to fight for what you want but don't change yourself overly to empress him because than you arn't being true to yourself.

You cant make anyone love, if you don't love yourself first nor should you put yourself in a marriage, where there was no love. Don't second guess whether your husband loves you or not. You didn't say in what age bracket you are in, but after 5 plus years of marriage sometimes between work, busy schedules, raising children, running errands some couples pass each other like two ships in the night. That doesn't mean either partner doesn't love the other, but, it is a warning sign that the two must COMMUNICATE their feelings and sit down (TV off) and discuss their problems. Marriage simply takes hard work and we are ever changing as we age. My husband and I have been married for 35 years. Some of those years were tough ones with illness and loss of family and friends, and yes, we did have our arguments, but we learned by what we experienced. It's simply easier to communicate each other's feelings and come to common ground than say nothing and let the tension build until both partners become strangers or the love has gone out of the marriage. My husband and I take a 1/2 hour to an hour to go over our day and discuss all sorts of things. No matter how busy one is 1/2 hour is not impossible. Some are serious matters and some are just problems we resolve together. Please sit down with your husband and start talking. He may not want to say much at first, but you could at least let him know how you feel and that you are willing to work with him to resolve any problems in your marriage. When people hit around the 40 mark this is when they start getting those feelings of 'I haven't really accomplished all the things I want too' and they may feel they are running out of time. Most grasp for youth that has passed and fear aging. Each individual deals with it in a different way. Some men will want to grasp their youth and for example buy a motorcycle, take up flying, etc. Some women will begin to feel old and want to retain their youth and will get a new hairstyle, new style of clothing, go on a trip, go back to night classes or college or even get another job or go back to work. All couples can end up taking each other for granted, but if we are paying attention we can take a few brief seconds to realize this and do something nice for our partner and just simply say 'I love you.'

It is incredibly important for there to be trust and respect in this relationship because you need to know that they will do what is best for you even if you do not want to hear it. If you want to use your money to buy a television, for example, you want to be sure that they will step in and stop you. It is also necessary for there to be trust and respect so that you will do what they say and will not just ignore their advice.

This could extend beyond just telling them what you are doing, however. You could set up a schedule and have them check up on you to make sure that you are really trying to achieve the goal. Many people will design things in this way if they have a goal of breaking a bad habit such as smoking cigarettes. It is very easy to ignore your goal in your own head when you really have a craving for a cigarette, but it will be much harder if you have to consider the other person as well. If you know that you are going to have to admit what you did when they call you up, you will be more prone to resisting the temptation.

All told, accountability is the best way to reach goals because you do not have to depend completely on yourself. You can get someone else to help you along the way. Everything becomes easier when there are two people working toward the goal instead of only one.
