Aim to reduce the amount of energy you use. Use low energy light bulbs. Don't overheat or overcool your house, adapt your dress to a more economical temperature. Don't make unnecessary journeys, try to do business on the internet rather than face to face meetings. Don't organise grand conferences unless absolutely necessary, these involve a lot of people travelling many miles just to listen to each other. Use a more economical car, or even a bicycle for short local journeys-it will do you good as well.

How To Improve Energy Efficiency in Your Home?

Over the past few years many people have become far more cautious of their energy output and are looking for ways to become more energy efficient. One of the best ways that a person could become more energy efficient would be to make various improvements in their home and their lifestyle. There are a few different ways a person could drastically improve their energy efficiency. The first way to improve energy efficiency in your home would be to install solar panels. Solar panels are devices which sit on the roof of your home and convert the sun's energy into energy that you can use for your home. While these may be expensive at first to purchase and install, solar panels tend to provide the best overall return on investment. Not only will you receive a tax credit and lower utility bills, but you could eventually even sell energy that you have stored back to the utility companies. The second way to improve energy efficiency in your home would be to be more conscientious of your energy usage. While most people acknowledge that they use energy on a regular basis, very few realize how much they actually use and how they may be wasting it in their home. The key to reducing your carbon footprint would be to track all the different ways that you use energy and to find ways to reduce the amount you use. This could include being sure to turn off light switches when you leave a room, unplugging unused appliances, or turning down your air conditioner a couple degrees. The third way to improve energy efficiency in your home would be to install more energy efficient appliances and fixtures. The average household wastes a lot of energy simply because they do not have the most efficient appliances or fixtures in their home. By switching to more efficient appliances, such as getting an efficient refrigerator or laundry machine, a household could cut their total energy usage significantly. Also, by installing more energy efficient windows and installation, you will help improve your home's ability to retain its desired temperatures, which would decrease energy usage.
