First of all you have to have somewhat high position of power; judge, senator, governmental job, a position where decisions are made that influence a certain area or amount of people. Second you have to be able to get up in front of millions of people and cameras and all that and still be able to lie your heart out with a straight face( the lieing is not necessary nor recommended but merely an example of the level of charisma needed). Lastly you have to have an idea that is unique enough and broad enough that it reaches enough people on the first go around to last long enough to spread to the millions of people in the world.

Really it is impossible to change society by yourself though, because that isn't what society means. Society is a group of people that gather together and pool their recurring ideas to get along and become efficient. Until the next nuclear fallout or zombie apocalypse.
