Well from my experience I own trainers, so my guess is that do not take it out in public, I got caught once for walking around with a real Butterfly knife, wasn't funny ok. So you can order one but try not to show off or brag about it, your friends could post a pic of you holding it and a officer may stumble upon it, and **** happens, so you can order one, but make sure the company you are ordering from allows it, like where I got my balisong which is Bladeplay.com well they allow shipping practicaly everywhere :)
Butterfly or Balisong, or gravity knives are illegal to sell, buy, mail, possess, carry, unless you are active duty military or law enforcement officer.detailed analysis of CA knife carry laws is in the attached link.yes
Butterfly knives, also known as balisongs, are not illegal in Texas. However, it is illegal to carry them with intent to harm. You can also go the safe route and get a balisong trainer--they are legal everywhere.
(i am not a lawyer buy any means and am answering this according to my knowledge) Not entirely. it is illegal to carry around in the public if the blade exceeds 2 inches but it is not illegal to own on your own property even if it excceds 2 inches though how you can get it into your home without any legal issues i have no idea and is actually my question to.
They're not technically illegal, but you cannot import them as the handles are counted as being the same as regular balisong handles, and your trainer WILL be seized by customs on the grounds of it containing illegal weapons parts. Source: Experience.
Yes but the blade must be under 4" if any longer than that it is a violation of MO law to carry if it is over 4" it is illegal to carry but you can keep it at home. You can also go around the law by getting a balisong trainer--a balisong without the blade. It is legal almost everywhere. You can even get a model that is a bottle opener.

Balisong knives, also called butterfly knives, are legal in Illinois.
No you can own a balisong in KY as long as you don't intend on using it to harm people.
It depends. Balisong Knives (Commonly known as Butterfly Knives) often fall under the category of "Gravity Knives" which are illegal. (These are knives opened through Gravity). Thus, you may be able to talk your way out of having your Balisong taken or being arrested for it, but in court, it's likely the judge will find it illegal. The safest way is to get a trainer which is a blunt Balisong with holes drilled so you can't sharpen it. Also, the most popular company for Balisong's is Benchmade who owns the copyright of Butterfly Knives and produces "The Butterfly Knife". You know what I mean if you ever watch videos. Everyone uses a Benchmade.
butterfly knives are legal but they must be under 3.5 inches. Balisong trainers are legal however.
legally no but order from knifezilla and the guy does wonders :-) on all knives hope that helps
