It's usually just a couple wrenches to pull the fittings. Make sure you have something to catch the fuel, and don't let anyone smoke around there while fuel is present. If you can lift the front of the vehicle up high enough, you MAY not leak fuel all over, but understand that usually, while the fuel filter is disconnected, fuel will be leaking all over the floor, so plan to work reasonably fast. Using 2 wrenches, turn the fittings that hold the filter in place, quickly remove the old filter and tighten the new filter into the fittings. It may be difficult jack up the front of the vehicle enough to get the fittings higher than the fuel tank, so some people just open the rear filter fitting and let all of the fuel drain out into a gas can, that way you don't end up with fuel all over YOU and run the risk of fire.
