use a continuity tester on the switch itself just hold contacts on tester to contacts on switch and if it reads with a beep or a light your switch is good pending the tester is accurate
You cannot manually close a power window. You must repair the problem causing it not to work. Check the fuse, power window switch, and if they are good, you may need a new motor.
i would first check to see if power window master switch is good usually if more than one window doesnt work, that's where the problem isfords also have a lock on the master switch for windows other than driver window. check that is not engaged
check by drivers door in the bellows between the hinges almost 100%sure there will be broken wire(s)
I'd check the power window motor?
First check fuse,if good take door panel off the door that window is not working and check for power with test light at window motor while pressing window control switch,if power is present, than tap motor with hammer and see if brushes free up. If this will not fix it than you need to get new motor.
I would go in this order: (1) check the fuse (2) remove door panel to gain access to window motor and check the presence of voltage in the wire leads when the switch is activated (make sure the ignition is on). if voltage is present in the leads when the switch is operated then the motor is probably bad. If no voltage is present when switch is operated (3) check the switch itself. (4) aIf the switch itself is good check the continuity in the wire leads from the switch to the door, the wire may be broken or shorted somewhere. Good luck.
check to be sure you are getting power to the swith itself. If you are, check to be sure power is getting to the motor when the switch is pushed. If you are getting power to the motor and it is not working. 1st check for a good ground, next repalce the motor. also, make sure that the connectors attaching to the switch and the motor itself are good and tight. Make sure that none of the terminals inside the connector have backed out of the plastic housing. If you have a good power and ground source to the switch, try "hotwiring" the window motor itself. Make a jumper wire and use it to apply voltage to the correct terminal at the motor. If it still doesn't work, use that same jumper wire and jump from the motor to a good known ground. If all this fails, replace the window motor.
If you've done all that you say, then the next logical thing would be to check the continuity of the circuit. If you've replaced the switch place a propbe at the fuse block and the other probe at the switch to see if there is any power reaching the switch. If there is power to the switch, then check from the switch to one of the window motors. I suspect that one of the wires between the switch and the window motor(s) is probably broken or shorted to ground. ALSO: Does your vehicle have a safety child lock-out switch for the windows? Make sure that it is not in the lock position.
First test to see if the problem is the switch, wiring, or the motor. Here's howhttp://www.ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/repair-topics/window-power-repair/test-power-window-motor-and-regulatorThen replace the regulator if the switch and wiring test good. First, check that the window lock switch is not pressed. It is on the drivers door next to the four power window switches, it has a little picture of a door and window on it with an X through it. If the switch is pressed, only the driver can open and shut the windows, the switches on the other doors will not work. If the windows won't work at all, not even from the driver's door, make sure the fuse for the power windows is good. Replace it if you don't know how to check it, fuses are cheap.
Broken wire or wire connection at the switch and/or fuse. You can check for any voltage present at those locations with a simple volt/ohm meter.
Sounds like the switch may be faulty or the wiring is loose. Pull the switch out and check the wiring. Spray the switch with a good Electrical cleaner. Do not use any product such as WD-40.
