Your 1998 Bonneville will not start have replaced the battery the starter was replaced last year do you have any ideal what it may be?
On a 1998 Chevy Silverado several times it has failed to start and when you jiggle the cord connecting the battery to the alternator it starts Now when the key turns it clicks Is this the starter?
The starter is probley okay, You need to remove the battery cables and clean them up real good. Then check and clean the negative cable where it hooks to the engine. Clean and check the positive cable where it hooks to the starter. It sounds like the cable that goes to the alternator needs to be replaced. The cable is bad inside where you can't see it. This would be the positive cable. It is hooked to the starter too.
Your 1998 mercury mystique brake lights don't work is there a sensor that needs to be replaced or just a fuse?

How do you replace the starter in a 1998 Chevy Prizm?
Starter doesn't need to be replaced unless it went bad. Take the vehicle to Autozone, Oreilly, or any auto part store that offers free battery/starter/alternator testing service, and they can tell you if starter is going bad. I assume you are having problem starting the car. If that's the case, check battery first, then starter and alternator. I have a 2001 Prizm and starter died on me at 40000 miles, which seems awfully early. Replaced with a remanufacture one from Autozone and has worked since, car is at 100k miles now.
