How can you convince a guy you dated for only a few months but experienced a lot with that you can be friends when he won't even talk to you and was very rude to you?

If he is treating you this way, then I would ignore him, he clearly is still upset about the relationship, and you can't force him to accept your friendship. To be honest it seems to me (although I may be wrong) that you still have feelings for him, and you don't want to stop seeing him - even if you can only see him in as a friend. If you are stilling missing him, then try and keep yourself occupied - start a new excercise regime, focus on your body and health or your education/career. If he wants to accept your friendship, he will come to you in the end, if not, you don't need his immaturity either. Good luck.
