You canj go back and talk with the dealer you bought the gun from- if they are still in business They WILL need to know when you bought the gun. Dealers maintain records of sales for 20 years per Federal law. Next time, have an inventory with serial numbers and pictures.
Added: If you bought it from a private party, hopefully you will have a bill-of-sale from them for the weapon, or you may know them. Contact them to see if they may have kept a record of it, or ask if they can put you in contact with the dealer they bought it from. If you/they don't have these records - you are pretty much SOL.
Go the the gunshop or person you bought it from.
If it has been reported stolen, you might be able to find out by asking the police to run the serial number.
Look on the weapon. If this is an instance of a stolen firearm, and you need the serial number for reporting, there are a couple different ways you might be able to find it. If you have a case the firearm came with (particularly with handguns), the number could be on a tag on the case. If you remember when and where you bought it, the shop you bought it from should be able to pull up those records.
You should written it down when you bought it. If you bought it from a dealer in the past few years, he should have recorded the serial number in his "bound book" when you purchased it and may be able to find it (but he certainly won't want to dig out his old records, so you should at least know when you bought it).
Depends on where you bought the gun. If from a store they should have the info. It might even be on your receipt. If you bought at pawn shop they usually include that info on the receipt. If you bought from individual and your state doesnt require registration you're out of luck.
I bougth a thule luggage carrier and lost the receipt. thule bought after 2006 are lifetime warrantied. can I find out where I bought it or the year it was purchased by the serial number. thank u kate
No, you can not. To find your lost cell phone you require IMEI number or your serial number.
You can't. Contact the police if you believe it is stolen.
Contact your local police and ask them to run the serial number.
You'll find the serial number clearly printed either on the CD or in the box it came in when you bought it.
Want to keep a record of your mobile serial number in case it is stolen? There are two methods. With the phone switched on dial *#6# and your phones serial number will be displayed on the screen! The less technical way to find your phones serial number is to turn your phone off, remove the battery cover, remove the battery and look at the case under the battery for the number. For quick access, maybe you could store it in your phone.
Contact your local police. If it has been reported stolen to the police they can find out.
