This is a common issue with the ECU with this model. Pin outs can get corroded also there is risk of water damage.... Usually ECU replacement is needed and Crank position sensor....

Has it always been like this or not? If it is, then it is not really a problem. It is how the stereo was installed. An stereo can be installed to be turned on whether the engine is on or off. If the stereo cannot be turned off at all, then you have a problem with your stereo.

I've had the same problem. If you have the Sims 2 Deluxe, then The Sims 2 Nightlife is already installed when you installed Deluxe.Maybe this was the problem, and I hope it helped!:)
