There are two possibilities here. One, go to any large Honda motorcycle dealership that has been in operation since your bike was manufactured. It is possible they have an owners or service manual that you can copy. Second, join a Honda Shadow owner's forum on the internet, some of the members will verly likely help you out.

The Honda Motor Company, any large dealership in motorcycles, will possibly help you to order this. I am not sure if it is totally free but it is not expensive either. Or they may allow you to copy their own repair and maintenance manual for the bike if they have it for a small sum of the cost of copying.
According to the shop manual, the fuel capacity is 12 liters (3.18 gal) with a 2.5 liter (.65 gal) reserve.
